the latest news and happenings and thoughts and stories of All Saints

parish forum imageI find it hard to believe it’s been one year since we took the leap into two Sunday services. If you recall, this decision was the culmination of an eight-month-long process where we as a parish reconnected with our mission and rearticulated those aspects of our personality we wanted to stay alive to especially as our family continues to grow in number. As our Vestry facilitated this process, you played an integral role in helping us identify, articulate, and flesh out these defining aspects of our church.

MISSION: Under the lordship of Christ and in obedience to the Scriptures, we make it our aim to be a community that shares in the life of God for the life of the world

PERSONALITY: As we pursue this mission, there are five unique characteristics of All Saints we hope to stay alive to:

  • Spiritual Formation in the Anglican Way—a commitment to form people into the likeness of Christ within the three streams of Anglicanism: Scripture, Sacrament, and Spirit
  • Healing Hospitality—a place of welcome and healing for those hurt and wounded

  • The Church as Family—a multi-generational community where close relationships are formed and all are encouraged to participate

  • A Heart for Service—a people eager to serve in meaningful ways both “inside” the church and “outside” through vocation, community organizations, and global partners

  • Financially Generous and Responsible—we budget according to what is pledged, are financially stable, and give 20% of our annual budget outside the church

Because of our shared commitment to this mission and personality, we believe our transition to two services has not only been considerably smooth, but it has also opened the doors (and seats) for many others to become a part of our church community and experience the transforming love of Christ. Since we took that leap, we are blessed to continue experiencing both growth and ongoing space constraints.

Our leap into two services has helped to get us to this point, but was never capable of serving as a permanent solution. This is why the Vestry keeps exploring the same question: "How do we continue to be good stewards of our growth?"

As we do so, our desire is to ensure the parish remains informed of this process, calling you to pray with us, to think alongside us, and to share your wisdom with us as we continue to move forward.

One way we would like to do that is to invite you to participate in a Parish Forum on Wednesday, August 23 at 6:00 p.m. so to discuss these matters further—one year after we shared that discussion together that led to a great year for All Saints! A light meal and childcare will be provided. We hope to see you there. And as always, remember to keep giving thanks and praying for our wonderful parish—for continued unity, expectancy, and faithfulness to Christ.
