Do you despair of the low-fat, low-carb, low-calorie, meat-full or meatless, measured-by-fear way of life that characterizes our culture? Father Robert Capon is the voice of Slow Food, a practice that advocates a slower passage of time when it comes to making and eating and enjoying our daily bread. Butter, salt, sugar, and eggs are all out to get us. But if you mix them altogether, says Father Capon, you get not sudden death, but Hollandaise! Food is not mere necessity, but sacrament. It is an epiphany of what it means to be made in the image of God.

So be sure to sign up for one of our Summer Supper Groups in June. These groups are for joy and creativity and love of God and one another. Each person is to prepare their favorite recipe and share it with the group. See the signup sheets in the foyer.
