Parish Summit 2025
As we reflect upon 2024, we give thanks to God for at least the following:
- Our New Nave has provided us with the opportunity to worship together in one service in a beautiful space, further allowing every age group to meet beforehand during a Formation Hour designed to prepare us to encounter God afresh in Word and Sacrament.
- Olivia Abernathy joined our staff as our Minister of Community Engagement to provide vision and structure for all of our outreach efforts, launching the Diaper Project and facilitating our Fall Pastorates that have helped us think more about what it means to engage our world in the way of Jesus.
- After being hired as our Deacon of Parish Ministries, Fr. Kevin Vailes was ordained to the priesthood and has served us and the surrounding parishes in our diocese with much-needed sacramental ministry.
- We held our first Common Life Sunday back in August solidifying what it means for all of us to be a part of All Saints Anglican Church: to commit to practices of common prayer, common learning, and common service.
- We continue to grow into our Mission Abbey as prayer services are constantly offered in our Nave throughout the week and as our Parish Hall is used for all types of ministry, such as All Saints Immigration Services (ASIS), the Diaper Project, the Blessing Place, a weekly AA group meeting, periodic events for the Scouts, as well as various trainings and diocesan meetings.
We further believe that in order to foster this growth well we must all work to deepen our relationships with one another. Indeed, three “rallying” words beckon our attention as we move into this next year:
intentional | relational | multigenerational
As our parish grows, it’ll become easier and easier to get lost in the crowd and in the flurry of activity. Which means that each of us must be intentional to nurture our relational bonds with each other, because we believe that the Spirit of God is among the people of God. As we grow in our love for one another, we grow in our love of God.
But more than this, God has blessed All Saints to be a multigenerational parish, giving each of us the opportunity to pray, learn, and serve alongside those who are different than us and in different seasons of life. What a privilege it is for our church family to consist of folks from every generation. And it’s a privilege we desperately need to take advantage of.
We encourage you to participate in the entirety of our Parish Summit as we celebrate and explore these matters together.
